A career in SC’s agriculture sector is all of the things: building businesses, engineering greenhouses, marketing products, operating drones, planting seeds, and so much more.
Take another look and see yourself as an Ag Professional in the future.
In SC Agriculture Career Pathways, participants will:
- Meet virtually for professional development and agriculture career workshops.
- Gain valuable information about career opportunities and planning tools.
- Network with peers and develop connections to a diverse group of leaders in SC’s agriculture sector.
Undergraduates and other early career applicants welcome (college enrollment is not required). Individuals from underrepresented backgrounds are encouraged to apply. You must be between ages 18–29 to apply and located in South Carolina.
Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a stipend of $250 and certificate of completion. Selected participants must register in the South Carolina State Vendor System in order to receive the stipend.
Applications are due by January 17, 2025. Participants will be notified of their acceptance to the program by January 24, 2025.
Sessions
All sessions will be held virtually via Zoom from 6–8 pm. This year’s topics will include SC agriculture industry overview, animal agriculture and agritourism, ag tech and nontraditional careers in ag, community agriculture and nonprofits, agribusiness development, and traditional farming methods and opportunities.
